Happy birthday to me

Snow Patrol, Dundee. 13 May 2006
WHAT a great day yesterday was.

The dull, cold, overcast weather that was forecast never materialised in Dundee, and we were for the most part bathed in nice warm sunshine. It did get a bit colder in the evening, but by then we were all crammed into the tent to see Snow Patrol bring day one of Radio 1’s Big Weekend to a close.

Over the course of the day I saw: Corinne Bailey Rae, Orson, Gnarls Barkley, Razorlight, Muse, The Streets, Mylo, and Snow Patrol.

I’d already seen a few of these acts before at various events, but still enjoyed seeing them again. Most notably Snow Patrol. They were fantastic, and much better than they were when I last saw them a couple of years ago.

They’re one of those bands that you’re aware of, but you don’t realise just how many of their songs you actually know until you see them playing live.

One of my best birthdays yet.
